Benchtop Patterns in 3D Views

When we have the benchtops on the Cabinets by default, the image typically starts in a repeated pattern, generally 1x1 setup. This makes the benchtop material’s image stretch to fit the size of the surface it is on, so if it is being used on the side face of a benchtop it will look compressed.

The same effect will happen on a Floor End Panel on the top surface. See the image below for a visual example.

Alternatively, we can choose to make the image a fixed size, which means that instead of stretching the image to fit we are instead using as much of the image as possible before. Seen below we can get a better image on the side of the benchtop, and the Floor End Panel looks better from the top surface.

The Fixed size we used was taking a size relative to the depth of the Benchtop. As these cabinets had a bench of 600mm deep, the width of the image size was just set as the same to prevent distortion of the image, keeping the aspect ratio of the original image, which is typically square.
